Best Bits 2018
Well, what a show we had in 2018. We’d like to say a big thank you to everyone who joined us – exhibitors, sponsors, florists, caterers, designers, the incredible staff at Hylands House and of course all of our wonderful visitors for coming out to see us.
We’ve put together a collection of our favourite moments from our 2018 show below but right at the top of our list has to be when Alan Titchmarsh conducted the Ground Force theme tune with the Chelmsford Silver Band LIVE at the show! You can watch the video right here:
Grand Opening
It was so wonderful to see so many of you join us for our Grand Opening with Alan Titchmarsh on Friday 18th May 2018. To view our Facebook Live of the opening, click here.
Alan Titchmarsh
We loved having Alan Titchmarsh open the National Flower Show 2018. The TV Gardener also took part in two talks and Q&A sessions at the show as well as presented our Best in Show award - he even conducted the Ground Force Theme tune with a live orchestra at the show!
Boycie
We were delighted to welcome John Challis (aka Boycie from Only Fools and Horses) to our 2018 event. John had a great time meeting everyone at the show and gave visitors the chance to purchase signed copies of his books (as well as pose for a few selfies)
Royal Wedding Bells
To celebrate the Royal Wedding, we paid tribute across the three day event with some stunning displays inside Hylands House.
Gardening Talks Theatre
The Gardening Talks Theatre was very popular across the three day show, especially for our Q&A sessions with the lovely Alan Titchmarsh on Friday 18th May.
Floral Pavilion
Our Floral Pavilion was packed with amazing plantsman and displays - some of these were truly stunning and the standard has been set for our 2019 show.
Craft and Gift Pavilion
There was such a variety of products inside our Craft and Gift Pavilion and it was great to see how popular it was with our visitors.
Fine Food & Drink Pavilion
Did you take a look inside our Fine Food & Drink Pavilion? It was impossible not to be tempted to buy some of the tasty products our exhibitors were selling inside.
Plants and Outside Stands
It wouldn't be a flower show without the key ingredient - flowers! And we had an amazing range of plants, bulbs and garden accessories on sale at our 2018 show.
Bar & Village Green
If you fancied an afternoon tipple, you could join us at our popular Garden Bar. This was a great place to sit back and relax in our Village Green and was situated right next to the stage so you could hear the talks and Q&As too!
Strawberries in the sunshine
There's nothing more British than enjoying strawberries in the sunshine - and these strawberries went down a treat with our visitors in 2018.
Customers
It made our whole weekend to see so many of you leaving with arms (and even trollies) full of bargains! We hope you all enjoyed your time with us and we'll see you again for our 2019 show!
